The larger the layer of lime scale on the reactor wall, the more difficult it becomes to remove it.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Cleaning water softening reactors<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In the past, softening reactors were always cleaned manually.<span class=\"s1\">\u00a0Cleaning a pellet reactor took up to a week. This was a time consuming process in which the labour circumstances were also far from optimal.
